this weekend, after half-watching a special on much more music, i've decided that i need to listen to the dave matthews band. i haven't up until now and i think it's about time.

now i just have to figure out if i should start at the beginning and work forward or listen from the newest to oldest. any hints?

ah, screw the Dave Matthews Band... you should be listening to... Me First and the Gimme Gimmes!

oh. my. god.

any band that wears fezzes (what IS the plural of fez?) is tops in my books, daddy-o.

me first! yeah!

and with dave.. well.. i'd personally start with "crash" and then "everyday" and then you can go wherever you want from there. :)

with DMB, just get under the table and dreaming and crash and skip the rest-- it's craptastic.

the only song that i really ever became crazy over was "crash"

I agree with starting with Under the Table and Dreaming and Crash. If you like those even a little you'll love the first big live album, Live at Red Rocks (yes, it's a really creative title). It's got most of the early songs, and the band is really best live. If you just adore the live stuff, grab Listener Supported. And then, if you stii-iiiiill want more, try to find a copy of The Lillywhite Sessions, it's better than their new album and the one before it. And to think, I haven't listened to them in over a year...

oh, i have SO many better bands for you to listen to first!

I agree with derrick...but I'd say half of 'crash' is good and the other albums have 2-3 songs that are ok on 'em. I wish he'd lose the cheesy saxophone though...
