last night, i met a man who makes wine from flowers. saturday night, i discovered i love it when dean is in a good mood. friday night, a slightly stinky rummy told me how he'd made a million dollars. thursday night, i put my foot down.

yesterday, i had a nap. saturday, i laughed a lot. friday, i kicked ass. thursday, i stayed up late.

oh, hitting-on-guy finally emailed me. he wants to go for coffee or something. i know it's wrong, but i can't help that he's even less attractive to me now that i have seen he has poor spelling-slash-typing skills. it's not horrible i want a literate man, is it?

lets see his email to you!! :)

Subject : Hello................

Hi, Heather...........

How are you? Do you remember me? Well, in case you forgot me, I am Mohamed, the guy you met last week at the library(Lynn Valley) on your way to your car. However, I just wanted to say hello to you, and also let you know that it was really nice to talk to you that day. In anycase, I was wandering if you wanted to meet again for coffee( if you have time).
I look forward to hear from you.

Thanks.
Mohamed

Geez, it's not THAT bad. I think you're looking for reasons not to go. :p (Interestingly, I don't know if his parents were poor spellers themselves, as that's the first time I've seen Mohamed with only two m's! ;))

i'm always looking for reasons not to go, silly. and i can't believe that you of all people aren't jumping all over him for his spelling errors!

funny, my first reaction was that it was worse than I expected!! yikes.

but maybe you can take him under your wing *wink* and "help" him ;)

He lost me at "Hello............."

Hey wait, how'd the other guy make a million dollars?

i'm a lover, not an english teacher, col. ;)

Sheesh!

The guy mispelled a FEW words; truth be told, it's the grammar that made me wince! Then again, not EVERYONE can be as impeccable in spelling as the literati, am I right?

haec jocatus sum... of course I'd never consider myself part of the literati!

i just found it interesting that this bookish fellow i met at the library of all places, who complimented me more than once on being literate and intelligent, would then show himself to have a less than average grasp of grammar and punctuation.

i guess i really am a snob and shouldn't be allowed to date.

Nah... everyone has to have their standards. NEVER settle... NEVER EVER!

Ask yourself this: do you think that there is hope for him? Is he ignorant or dumb?

If he's ignorant, you can point him in the right direction. Some of the most well read people I know are frighteningly illiterate when it comes to grammar. If he's dumb, run the other direction. Leave skidmarks... with your shoes!

i'm a grammar and spelling and punctuation snob too ... but there are also plenty of highly intelligent and well-read people that aren't so great with the grammar and stuff. *shrug*

but if you didn't like him much to begin with, it's really a moot point.

you think his typing is bad now, wait til you see his handwriting. it's no big deal though. his mistakes weren't that obvious and could have been made by being nervous or anxious...
think about doctors' handwriting... it's pretty bad, but we all know they are as smart as hell, otherwise we wouldn't go to them.

**i thought about riddling this reply with spelling errors and punctuation mistakes... but then i decided that if i did so you would write me off as not worth talking to.
