"well, you know that bigger girls are popular these days."

at least that wasn't his opening line. that was:

"i'm not very good at hiding how i feel, so i'm not even going to try."

i'm being pretty ungenerous. he was a nice enough guy who was at least interesting and had more hobbies than sitting on wreck beach oggling boobies (although, he did express an interest in running around naked in nature). he brought his dog. we walked through the gardens. we took at drive out to a secluded little park where there was a bench memorializing his friend who had committed suicide two years ago. he told me about how he thought a lot about doing the same during his very lonely and heartbroken winter.

"would you like to make out?"

it wasn't at all awful. i guess i'll try it again. just not with him.

Yours sounds more interesting than my coffee date went.

But then, sounds like that guy could string sentences together.

Would you like to become celebate lesbian lovers with me? It sounds far easier than this dating thing. And you could hang out with my cat, too.

I have no cats, but I'd be all in for a celebate lesbian 3some!

oi. I'm by FAR noooot the suave kinda guy... but if you're tryin to connect even somewhat.. askin to "make out" after expressing past desires to ice oneself is just... wrong! nothin says come hither like pity :p I mean c'mon dude. this is common sense...

sorry to hear it wasn't what you were hoping for...but at least it adds more fodder to the tales of bad dates

Hmm... looking for a snog through utter pathos? What is he, like, from a talker??

Okay, I'm sorry, I enjoy reading these entries, because it reminds me there ARE worse things than dealing with the moodswings of a spouse (from both sides). I'll have to write a long treaty on the evils of married life to let you get your laughs next...

P.S. You're not bigger, you're sturdy.

oh good lord heather, so sorry.

sturdy!!

pretty red dog. was it named clifford?

Dating = horrible. I keep swearing off, but then I keep meeting people that I think will be different. And oh boy are they. Different in that they're WORSE than the last one. :) But yes - there are always the stories to tell afterwards.

apparently, this guy skipped the class "basic communication and tact skills." nice.
