help

i need the help of culinary adventurous vancouverites. in two days, out of towners are coming to visit for the day and they want good dim sum for lunch somwhere in the region of granville island (which mostly means not crossing any more bridges to get to the restaurant).

if you know of such a place which would be open for lunch on a thursday and is quality dim sum, i'd really appreciate the information. sooner rather than later so they can map their route.

thanks in advance!

aieee.... Dim Sum is out of my area of expertise! I wish I could help! However I do look forward to the answers you do get...

The best dim sum place I know is in Victoria, which helps your friends approximately zero :)

Kirin Seafood (on West 12th) has a good reputation, though I've never been. The Pink Pearl is also pretty good.

i'll try to look up the names for you, i just know them by location.

fyi: i think the pink pearl is way too overpriced.

There is great (and cheap) dim sum at Westview Oriental in North Van, but alas, it's over a bridge.

I am new to town, as you know, but I did have good Dim Sum at Sun Sui Wah at 3888 Main Street (http://www.sunsuiwah.com/) . It's not exactly near Granville Island, but not that far(with no bridges involved). Hope this big rain storm they're predicting doesn't hit when they arrive!

I only go to Kirin on W. 12th and Cambie (in City Square). I haven't come across any place that beats it. http://www.kirinrestaurant.com/english/cambie/index.htm
